C Within Version 1.5 Now Available
KITCHENER, ON, November 28/2001
Thinkage has just released C Within, Version 1.5, the latest release of the indispensable shareware tool for C and C++ programmers.
C Within is a source code browser that helps programmers who require insight into the complex world of preprocessor macros.
The browser highlights the occurrence of macros and other preprocessor constructs (such as #include,
#if, and #ifdef directives) to make them easier to find.
Furthermore, if you click on such a construct, C Within can show you how the construct will be
expanded when the source code is actually compiled. If the expansion contains additional macro uses, you can expand these
too, until you can see exactly what the source code means.
Expansions can be performed relative to the sort of command line
options used by compilers for conditional compilation. Therefore, you can see what your program means within the context
that will actually be used during compilation, taking into consideration any command-line macro definitions, library
redirections, etc.
Version 1.5 introduces additional support for integrating C Within with popular programming environments such as Microsoft
Development Studio. Specially supplied conversion programs obtain information from project control files; this information can
then be used to configure C Within to match the corresponding project. Version 1.5 also provides information for writing
your own conversion programs if you use a development environment that is not currently supported.
If you want to download Version 1.5, please refer to the
information page at C Within for full details.
You can download the shareware for a free trial period of 30 days, or you can purchase a full license for the
software by credit card.
